Meet Elizabeth
2022 has brought unexpected challenges--for us as an organization and for those we serve. With requests for help at an all-time high, a staggering 1,143 families came through our doors for the very first time this past year.
One of these families included 84-year-old Elizabeth, who arrived at our pantry in tears, asking for help for the first time in her life. She told us that she always managed her money well and never was in need or want of anything, but her social security did not stretch as far as it used to. She was having difficulty putting food on her table and buying her medications.
We were able to provide Elizabeth with food and a little bit of hope that day, but we also wish we could do more.
