Mission Services Coordinator

Position Title: Mission Services Coordinator

Department: Programs

Reports To: Executive Director

Supervises: Special Works and Call Center Volunteers

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt 35-40 hours

Full Time/ Part Time:  FT

Schedule: Monday- Friday, days with flexibility to meet programmatic needs, occasional evenings and weekends




Position Summary: The Mission Services Coordinator is responsible for managing all special works administrated by the district office, both permanent and seasonal. Because SVdP is a ministry driven by volunteers and Vincentians, this position has responsibility for recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer positions for all Special Works. The Mission Services Coordinator will advise on the viability of current works and suggest direction for current and future programs that complement conferences works.


Duties and Responsibilities:

​

  • Recruit, train, advise, supervise, and manage call center volunteers, pantry volunteers, Financial Assistance volunteers and other district level volunteers.

  • Create and administer onboarding and ongoing training programs for all volunteer positions

  • Create and update volunteer positions as needed

  • Coordinate, welcome and direct community volunteer groups

  • Maintain support and communication with conferences including daily visit reports and questions that arise from conferences.

  • In coordination with the pantry manager, promote, recruit and oversee collection drives, stuff a truck, and other material donation activities

  • Evaluate special works and make recommendations for needed changes

  • Work collaboratively with the staff and volunteers to execute special works under the Rule and in the Spirit of SVdP

  • Coordinate with the Development Director to submit grant applications and make grant reports for Pantry and Special Works




Qualifications:

​

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred

  • 5+ years’ experience in non-profit leadership, program or project management;

  • 3+ years supervisory and/or people development experience

  • Ability to interact professionally and build rapport with stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of discretion

  • Strong time management, organizational and planning skill; including managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; grant writing skills a plus

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision; self-directed and motivated.

  • Ability to represent St. Vincent de Paul in public settings and participate in community-based meetings, presentations or events as required

  • Proficient in internet applications, with an ability to learn and utilize client databases, Microsoft Office and other applications.

  • Commitment to the Spirit and Rule of the St. Vincent de Paul Society

Certifications, Licenses, Registration, Screenings

  • Must pass a background check screening

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must complete Ozanam Orientation upon hiring

 


Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be required to frequently talk, hear, see, read and comprehend, understand and follow written and verbal instructions, relay information to others, reason and make judgements and make decisions based up program and organizational policies and guidelines. Employees will be required to stand, walk and sit and frequently use hands to finger, handle, hold, grip and feel. Employees may be required to carry, lift, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and push/pull. The required weight to lift, carry, reach, push or pull is often up to 10 pounds and periodically up to 50 pounds. This position requires the employee to operate a motor vehicle.  Individuals who hold this position must be able to perform all essential job functions unaided or with reasonable accommodation.
