The Founder's Gala
Details & More
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County will hold its Founder's Gala (formerly The Legacy Dinner) on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
In addition to celebrating the community support we have received during the pandemic, we are excited to welcome world renowned motivational speaker and poverty expert Dr. Donna Beegle as our guest speaker.
The event will be held in-person at The Armory in South Bend, and there is also an option to attend the event virtually.
Attendance is not required to bid in the event's silent auction.
Get Involved with the Event
All proceeds from The Founder's Gala benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to support our organization. Whether you attend the event online or in-person, make a donation, or bid in our silent auction, we cannot reach our goal without your help!
About the Speaker
After growing up in generational migrant-labor poverty, leaving school at 15 to get married, having two children, and continuing to cope with poverty while being essentially homeless her entire life, Dr. Donna Beegle found herself at 25 with no husband, little education, and limited job skills. Then, in 10 short years, she went from GED to a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
Since then, she has dedicated her life to educating others on the realities of poverty and to encouraging people to come together to help those in need. We hope Dr. Beegle’s story will inspire you to join the fight against poverty in our community.
